Børge Mogensen dining chairs for FDB Møbler 1940s, set of 8

Børge Mogensen Dining chairs in solid beech. 2 armchairs and 6 dining chairs. Manufactured by FDB and produced by Tarm Stole- og Møbelfabrik (stamp from both) 1940s.

In 1942, Børge Mogensen was appointed as head of FDB's furniture office, where he would realize the vision of functional modern furniture for the general broad population.

FDB bought Tarm Stole- og Møbelfabrik (Chair and Furniture Factory) in 1947 in order to control the production process through carefully coordinated collaboration between design, manufacturing, marketing and logistics.
A 35 minut long comercial told the story about A bright and happy future for a young couple that, "finally, as they spot the beautiful, simple FDB furniture, can look forward to a bright and happy future." 
Børge Mogensen resigned as leader in 1950.

Good vintage condition. Patinated with signs of wear consistent with age and use.
