Large drop shaped Just Andersen Table Lamp in disko metal, an alloy of lead and antimony invented by Just Andersen and named after his birthplace the Disko Bay in Greenland.
Just Andersen (1884-1943) is a fine representative of modern Danish neoclassicalism. In terms of style, he belongs mostly to the Art Deco movement, although his work clearly goes far beyond the classic Art Deco style.
Just Andersen created a lot of attention about his work. He attended world exhibitions from 1918 and had several large solo exhibitions abroad. He received many awards and honors, and not least he is represented at museums around the world including the New York Metropolitan Museum.
